Creating a miniature world to capture the summer spirit of a lemon-infused Gin and Tonic!

The concept here was to take a drink product, create miniature worlds that develop the character of the drink, all in my clean and playful photographic style.

Step one was to show the drink itself.

In this case, that was a ready-mixed Sicilian lemon-infused G&T. Delicious!

Because a lemon GnT is such a summery drink, I really leant into that theme. What does summer mean to a lot of us? Holidays, beaches, pools, water, basking in sunlight, relaxation, a refreshing tipple…

To show this character of the drink, I made a simple set in my studio consisting of a sandy base, and a sky blue background, which, when lit with a flash bouncing off an underwater mirror, shone with watery casutics.

The first shot in the series (above) was a simple bottle and drink photo, to entice the viewer in.

Shots two and three invite you to look closer, and see the miniature world happening around the products. The scenes I created further developed the ideas of summer mentioned above.

Shot 2 shows a pool scene built around the poured drink, fizzing temptingly (like a jacuzzi??)

And the third shows a beach scene happening at the base of the bottle and the poured drink!
